The news came by way of a Samsung press release, which offered goodies such as how;
“The Omnia Pro 4 and Omnia Pro 5 deliver a smart, stylish mobile companion that combine productivity and multimedia functionality.”
Personally I am not sure I can really agree, but these are business oriented handsets and they seem like they will serve that need well.
First up is the Omnia Pro 4, which features a 2.62 inch 320 x 320 touchscreen display, 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and support for dualband (900/2100) 3G.
Next up is the Omnia Pro 5. This model has a 2.4 inch 320 x 240 display, 2 megapixel camera and support for triband (900/1900/2100) 3G.
Both also offer A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, FM Radio, USB 2.0, microSD card slot and as you can see from the images — a full QWERTY keyboard.
In terms of software that is installed, I mentioned they are both running Windows Mobile 6.5 but you can also find Microsoft Office Mobile 2010, Office Communicator Mobile, Internet Explorer Mobile and Opera as well as support for push email, instant messaging and social networking applications such as Facebook.
Other features include the ability to join a Cisco WebEx online meeting directly from your phone as well as “Face Detection” and “Smile Shot” which those latter two will assist in taking better pictures and video.
And last but not least — the availability. The Omnia Pro 4 will become available in July and the Omnia Pro 5 a month later in August. Additionally, neither has been announced for the US market, instead the Omnia Pro 4 will be available in Europe, CIS and South Eastern Asia with the Omnia Pro 5 in South Eastern Asia, MEA, India and Latin America.
